  • 3 Onions
  • 2 Green chilli
  • 2 Black cardamom
  • 1 Inch Ginger chopped
  • 3 Garlic cloves chopped
  • 10 Cashew nuts
  • 100 ml Water
  • 1/4 Cup Curd
  • Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tsp ShahiJeera
  • 3 Cardamom
  • 3 Peppercorn
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 Tsp Chilli powder
  • 2 Tsp Coriander powder
  • T Tsp Cumin powder
  • Salt to taste


  • 1 Tbsp Butter – 1 tbsp
  • 1/4 Cup Methi leaves – 3 tbsp
  • 1 Cup diced paneer
  • Salt to taste
  • Cream


  • In a pan add water and add onions, green chilli, black cardamom, ginger, garlic and cashew. Bring it to a boil, cook for 25 min or till onions and cashewnut soften
  • Strain the onions. Remove the green chilli& black cardamom. Add the onions to a blender along with Curd and blend into a puree. Note: Do not use the strained water from onions, discard it.
  • Heat a pan and add oil and butter. Add shahijeera, black cardamom, cinnamon, Cardamom and peppercorn. Add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder and Cumin powder. Give a quick stir and then add the onion paste. Add water and cook on high heat. Keep stirring till oil surfaces on top.
  • In a pan melt butter and add the methi leaves, 1/4 cup grated paneer and paneer cubes. Sprinkle salt and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the gravy to the methi and paneer. Cook for another 3-4 minutes. Adjust the water if the curry if too thick. Pour cream, stir and remove from heat and serve hot with naan or roti.
